Synopsis
Charles, a retiree, finds new life when he answers an ad for a private detective job and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. A remake of Salainen agentti vanhainkodissa (2020). I’m not a keen observer, but we had a great time the whole season on the first night. It has the right mix of warmth, fun, sadness and a deep story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Ted Dunson is great, of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz ’99) is great and her character is someone you want to spend all your time with. The action is set in San Francisco, which of course helps my rating, but above all, although it is very sad at times, it is a comedy that gives hope for the future when we are all a little older. A solid eight out of ten for me, one for all ages and who knows, maybe another season.
